SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - A 22-year-old Searcy man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man who was killed while working as a janitor.
The Daily Citizen reports that Sherod Shockley entered the plea Tuesday in White County Circuit Court. He's the second man to enter a plea deal in connection with the death of Zachary Mitchell. Two other men are charged in the shooting and await trial.
Mitchell was found dead Oct. 23 at Nephrology Associates. He had been shot in the chest.
